Editing Services
With almost 20 years of professional editing experience and 10 years of teaching experience, I know how to guide writers in making stories of all shapes and sizes clear, concise, and effective. I currently provide the following services to select clients and manuscripts:
Ghostwriting
Have a story to tell, but no idea how to do it? I can help! A ghostwriter is a person who writes pieces (books, stories, essays, speeches, etc.) that are officially credited to another person as the author. Think of it as someone “behind the scenes” tidying up your story for you and helping get it onto the page.
Critique
A critique is an expert opinion on your manuscript’s prospects and valuable advice on how to improve it. No actual edits are performed, but instead I’ll read your manuscript and provide synthesized, detailed overall feedback. This is a great starting point if you aren’t quite sure what services you need.
Editing
A line-by-line edit of your manuscript, including revisions for language issues and advice on content. This is the most common editing service I provide, and the level of editing can range depending on the project, the budget, and the client’s specific needs.
Proofreading
A careful review of your final draft to get it ready to submit for agent querying or self-publication (for book-length manuscripts) and for publication (for shorter works, i.e., articles, short stories, essays).
